چکیده
Abstract The Minimal Theory of Causation, presented in Graßhoff and May, 2001, aspires to be a version regularity analysis causation able correctly predict our causal intuitions. In my article, I will argue that it is unsuccessful this respect. second aim the paper defend Hitchcock’s proposal concerning divisions relations (presented Hitchcock, 2001) against criticism made, Jakob, 2006 on basis Causation.

Causation and Causal Conditionals
Causation is defined recursively: event e is the cause of condition φ in context c iff e is the only sufficient cause of φ in c, and removing e from c either removes φ from c or results in some other event causing φ. A logical language is then defined, in which it is possible to represent and reason about actual and counterfactual events in evolving partial contexts. Axiomatic theories of event...
متن کاملFrom Covariation to Causation: A Causal Power Theory
Because causal relations are neither observable nor deducible, they must be induced from observable events. The 2 dominant approaches to the psychology of causal induction—the covariation approach and the causal power approach—are each crippled by fundamental problems. This article proposes an integration of these approaches thai overcomes these problems. The proposal is that reasoners innately...
متن کاملFunctionalism, Causation, and Causal Relevance
This paper argues that functional states, and states defined in terms of them, cannot be causally relevant to the output or state transitions in terms of which those functional states are defined, or to intervening mechanisms or to anything to which their output is in turn causally relevant. Functional states therefore cannot be correctly invoked in what I call "simple causal explanations". Exp...
